Former Conservative MP and cabinet minister Chuck Strahl has died at the age of 67. Strahl, a longtime Chilliwack resident, served in Parliament for 18 years, representing the BC Riding of Chilliwack_Fraser Canyon.

Strahl's family confirmed his death on Monday. No cause of death has been released.

Strahl was first elected to the House of Commons in 1993. He served in various cabinet positions under Prime Minister Stephen Harper, including Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, and Minister of Justice. Strahl retired from politics in 2015.

Strahl was a well-respected figure in the Conservative Party and in the Chilliwack community. He was known for his strong work ethic and his commitment to public service. Strahl will be missed by his family, friends, and colleagues.
